Cinderella was on the Empire theatre Liverpool from the 11th of December 2008 to the 4th of January 2009, with Jennifer playing Cinderella.

When Cinderella was first mentioned I was asked to review this and since the last show was today here is the review without being in a spoiler tag.

The review

Overall this was a really amazing panto and everything about it was amazing you could tell all the cast were really enjoying themselves (they all had really big smiles on these faces all the time) and this came across in this fabulous performance. The singing was great by all the cast (especially Jen and Cilla) and all the acting and dancing was really amazing and the whole panto felt magical and had a great family feel to it.

The set was really amazing and it felt really magical and very realistic with really good special effects. (Smoke, the fairy godmother coming from the ceiling and the real horses that were on Cinderella carriage to go to the ball to name a few.)

The costumes were very good. They were all amazing especially Jennifer's one were Cinderella goes to the ball and for the final wedding scene, these dresses were really beautiful. The costumes for the ugly sisters were very good as well.

The songs were all really good and all the audience were singing along. One of the best songs of the night was sang by Cinderella (Jen) and Prince Charming (Steven Fletcher) and was Cilla Black's (The fairy godmother) Anyone who had a heart. Another one of the highlights was When I'm 64 by The Beatles, which was, sang by Cinderella and another character as was You to me are everything.

Another highlight of the night was when Buttons (Les Dennis), Barron Hardup (Ted Robbins) and Dandini (Nick Pickard) sang the 12 days of Christmas (they changed the items to things like Toilet rolls and football shirts) and they squirted the audience with water.

These songs are just to name a few and are the ones that really stand out in my mind.

Jennifer was really amazing and really looked like she was enjoying herself. Her songs were the highlight of the night and the scenes with Buttons were some of the funniest of the night. (Especially the scene were Buttons try's to bring the ball to Cinderella and it involved Jen wearing a table cloth and a necklace of carrots)

Overall there is nothing I can say I did not like about this panto and I was not disappointed by anything and this fully deserves the title of the "biggest and best" panto in the country.

10 out of 10

Here is a scan of an article, which appeared in today's Liverpool Echo(IMG:http://i447.photobucket.com/albums/qq199/laura88_images/th_echo.jpg)

Here is the article
QUOTE
Cinders Jennifer Ellison was so brave
THE fiancé of Liverpool actress Jennifer Ellison has told how the star was determined to battle through her final pantomime performance despite being struck down by serious illness.

Boxer Robbie Tickle, who got engaged to the ex-Brookside star in October, rushed the 25-year-old to hospital on Saturday minutes after she struggled through her last performance as the lead in the Liverpool Empire performance of Cinderella.

Jennifer, who has been suffering from pleurisy and two cracked ribs after falling during a costume change, had to pull out of yesterday’s performance, which marked the end of the star-studded panto’s run.

Robbie, 29, said: “She had already started the show on Saturday. She was ill and she just got worse and worse.

“Every time she came off stage she was in floods of tears.

“I didn’t want her to carry on with the show but she was determined to finish it, she didn’t want to let the audience down.

“As soon as the show finished, the fans were told she wasn’t able to sign autographs and I took her to hospital.”

The model and actress, who plans to open her own theatre academy in Liverpool, has been on cloud nine since she got engaged.

The couple celebrated with a romantic holiday in the Maldives, but Jennifer later suffered from a chest infection and had a backstage tumble before Christmas.

Robbie said: “She had a fall doing a quick costume change and she cracked her ribs.

“She’s missed about four shows because she was ill. She’s had a bad chest infection – we were both ill for New Year
“She’s more upset because she missed the last night. She probably won’t get to see a lot of the cast for a while so she was looking forward to going out for a drink with them after the show.

“She wanted to perform but she was too ill. There was no way me or her mum were going to let her – we’re taking care of her at home.”

After Jennifer arrived at hospital on Saturday, doctors gave her painkillers and antibiotics.

She was recovering at her Cheshire home last night.

Get well soon Jennifer.
